Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time of the year to visit Tanzania for Safaris and Kilimanjaro trekking?

The peak dry season from June to october offers the best conditions for both. Yow will experience  optimal wildlife  viewing  as animals gather around waterholes, alongside clear, safe trekking weather on mount Kilimanjaro

Yes, January to March is another excellent dry window, ideal for Kilimanjaro climbs and witnessing the wildebeest calving season in  Serengeti. We recommend avoiding April and may due to heavy regional rains that can impact trails safety and road conditions

The most efficient way to arrive is by flying directly  into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Major carries servicing JRO include Delta/KLM, Qatar Airways, Turkish and Ethiopian Airlines, with connecting options available  via Dar es Salaam . As wholesaler in Tanzania, Wild Empire Discovery does not book international flights, but we can refer  you to a trusted agency  for your travel reservations

Tanzania is Africa’s ultimate adventure destination, offering an unmatched combination of world-class wildlife safaris, legendary mountain trekking, and pristine tropical beaches. It is home to iconic landmarks like Mount Kilimanjaro (the roof of Africa), the endless plains of the Serengeti, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the exotic spice islands of Zanzibar. Whether you want to witness the Great Migration, stand on Africa’s highest peak, or relax by the turquoise Indian Ocean, Tanzania delivers a safe, welcoming, and deeply transformative travel experience

Your day is entirely flexible and planned directly with your private guide. A few key guidelines include:
  • Morning Start: We encourage starting by 6:00 AM to see the big cats during their most active hunting hours.
  • Midday Choice: You can stay out all day with a packed picnic lunch, or return to your accommodation for a hot meal and a midday rest.
  • Park Curfews: To protect the wildlife, vehicles must be back at camp by 6:00 PM. A few specific areas in the Serengeti allow you to stay out until 7:00 PM.

Tanzania safari costs are primarily driven by the size of your private group, trip duration, and accommodation choices, with high daily park fees and fuel costs making it a premium destination. Mid-range private, multi-day safaris typically range from $2,500 to $4,500+ per person sharing (land costs only). Please note that land costs are significantly higher for solo travelers due to private vehicle, fuel, and guide expenses being covered by a single person. As an on-the-ground wholesaler, Wild Empire Discovery designs itineraries across all comfort tiers.
