Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro Airport
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), Wild Empire Discovery provides seamless private transfers to your hotel. Relax and enjoy the sunset before meeting your professional guide for a comprehensive briefing and gear check to ensure you are fully prepared for the journey ahead
Day 1
Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Begin your ascent through the misty, verdant rainforest where colobus monkeys often peer through the ancient tree ferns
Distance : 10km | 5-6hrs
Elevation : 1,800m to 2,835m
Overnight: machame camp
Day 2
Machame Camp to Shira cave Camp
Leave the forest behind as the trail steepens into the moorland zone. Enjoy spectacular sunset views over the Shira Plateau.
Distance : 5 km | 4-6 hours
Elevation : 2,835m to 3,750m
Overnight: shira cave camp
Day 3
Shira cave Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
A critical “Climb High, Sleep Low” day. You’ll reach the volcanic Lava Tower for lunch and acclimatization before descending into the beautiful Barranco Valley, filled with giant Senecios.
Distance : 10km | 6-8 hours
Elevation : 2,835m to 4.600m to 3900m
Overnight: barranco camp
Day 4
Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Start with the famous scramble up the Barranco Wall. Unlike the 7-day route, you will pass through Karanga Valley and continue straight up to High Camp (Barafu) to prepare for the summit

Elevation : 3900m to 4673m
Overnight: barafu camp
Day 5
Barafu Camp – Summit – Mweka Camp
The ultimate challenge. Reach the “Roof of Africa” at sunrise for an emotional celebration before descending into the heather zone
Distance : 16km | 10-12hours
Elevation : 4673m to 5895m to 3100m
Overnight: mweka camp
Day 6
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
A final steady walk through the rainforest to receive your summit certificates. Your Wild Empire Discovery driver will be waiting to take you back for a celebratory dinner.
