Itinerary:

8 Days Uganda Safaris

Welcome to Uganda The Pearl of Africa!

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met by Representatives from Uganda Wildlife Scene Safaris . Then you will be transferred to your place of accommodation ( Green Valley Guest House ) where you will rest for a few hours, after which you will begin with the safari after breakfast and proceed to the Gorilla Country direction - Bwindi National Park.  Transfer to lake Bunyonyi.

Introduction:  Lake Bunyonyi  As its serpentine shape might suggest, is essentially a flooded valley system, extending Northwards from the Rwanda border over a distance of 25kms through the contours of the steep hills that separate Kabale and Kisoro.

It is thought to have formed about 8,000 yrs ago, as a result of a lava flow from one of  the Virunga Mountains, which blocked off the Ndego River at the present –day Muko to create a natural dam.

The lake has a total surface area of 60km sq, it lies at an altitude of of 1840m, known to be the deepest lake in Uganda and also the home of “otters & crayfish”.

swimming is very safe. Active travelers are catered for, with motorized canoes that will take you to visit the several Islands of this lake, dinner and overnight at Arcadia Lodge  - Lake Bunyonyi.

Please Note: That the accommodation of this day depends on the Gorilla Family to be visited the next day which can only be confirmed as soon as we Fully purchase the Gorilla Permits.

Gorilla Trekking briefing point:

After an early breakfast you will head to the park headquarters and get the briefing from the chief park warden, then split into your groups and later its on to your adventure to meet these thrilling gentle giants of Bwindi National Park.

Trekking the Mountain Gorillas   

Trekking time varies according to the movements of these giants it could take from 30 mins to 5hrs so we highly recommend that you are in a good physical condition to trek these gorillas.

There are porters at the briefing point and if you need one to carry your equipment please do inform the warden and one will be readily available at a fee of $20 USD.

After visiting the gorillas you will get back to the camp and relieve those special moments with the group after which you will get The Gorilla Tracking Certificates. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Lodge - Lake Bunyonyi.

Tree Climbing Lions - Queen Elizabeth National Park:

After an early breakfast we will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park Southern sector called Ishasha which is famous for the last African breed of tree climbing lions.

We will begin the game drive in search of these fascinating felines. Forest elephants and several species of antelope are present. Later we will have our picnic lunch after which we will proceed with the game drive and arrive to check in at your accommodation by early evening. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge

After breakfast we will go for another morning game drive later return for a warm lunch. After lunch we will proceed to Fort Portal where we will arrive by early evening. Check in to your accommodation, refreshments dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel – Fort Portal.

Murchison Falls National Park:

The drive will take us to the Northern part of Uganda. Murchison Falls National park being the biggest park in Uganda will maximize our chances of completing the African Big 5 Safari. Arrive by early evening check in to your accommodation. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Early  Morning Game Drive:

After an early breakfast game drive begins at 6:30A.M. You will come across herds of elephants, giraffes, antelopes, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and several bird species also the unusual saddle bill storks.

Be back in time for your lunch.

Murchison Falls National Park: Introduction: This is the biggest national park in Uganda with an area of 3840sqkm.The River Nile divides the park into North and South sectors and forms a Falls where it flows over the western rift valley escarpment. At the top of falls the river is forced through a seven meter gap in the rocks and cascades into a boiling pot 43 metres below.

The 3hrs a boat cruise to the bottom of the River Nile falls will stop you at the foot of a trail which leads you through dense forest to a natural viewing platform of boulders. Along this 17 km Nile stretch you should view: elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, hippos, waterbucks, several antelope species, a lot of birdlife as they all come down for the afternoon refreshment.

Boat Cruise:

After Lunch you will take the beautiful boat cruise on River Nile which will last 3 hrs. At the bottom of falls you may decide to hike to the Top of Falls where you will be picked by your Tour Guide and transfer you back to your lodge. Refreshments meal plans dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

After breakfast we shall go for another game drive and maximize the chances to see more game and also try to complete the Big 5 African Safari. Return for lunch.  Later proceed to exit Murchison Falls National Park and head to Nakasongola Ziwa Rhinos ranch. Arrive by early evening, check in to your accommodation, dinner and overnight at Ziwa Rhino Lodge.

Proceed to the Ziwa Rhinos Sanctuary. The guided short walk will lead you to the Rhinos, the experience and thrill of walking by the side of these animals in this impressive piece of wooded savanna and taking pictures from a few meters is an unforgettable experience.

Later you will return to the main offices of this reserve and fill in your comments after which you’ll be transferred to Entebbe Airport and check in your flight in time. Then depart at 17:30 hrs. This marks the End of a Memorable Gorilla Adventure Safari with Uganda Wildlife Scene Safaris.
